In fact, we have now entered the phase where automakers are accentuating the unusual features their plug-in pickups offer as a way to stand out from the competition. Rivian Camp Built-in Camp Kitchen
The Rivian founder and CEO RJ Scaringe tweeted a video of his company’s unique Camp Kitchen features. In 2019, it was previously announced. This small countertop design includes a two-burner induction cooktop and a collapsible sink with a spray faucet and a four-gallon water tank. All slide in and out of the R1T truck’s body in what is a Gear Tunnel that is located just behind the rear seats.
The Camp Kitchen is Very Expensive but Well Worth the Price if you Love the Great Outdoors
The package which costs $5000 makes the Camp Kitchen expensive. This is on top of the R1T’s approximately $70,000 starting price. However, it does come with more than just the burner and the sink. What is impressive is the kitchen does include a 1,440-watt, two-burner induction cooktop and a collapsible, four-gallon sink with a pressure differential pump. The built-in mini-kitchen’s drawers come with custom molded inserts. They, in fact, have a place for every fork, knife, and spoon of the included 30-piece kitchen set from Snow Peak. Spatulas, tongs, a can opener, titanium cutlery, a water kettle, and more are all part of this extensive package.
Rivian is touting the inserts that are so well designing you won’t hear a noise when you drive with all of these utensils around the town. What is better yet, the kitchen and kitchen set are both modular. Therefore, you can with relative ease remove them when you need the Tunnel Shuttle for more storage.
Rivian’s Separate Package
There is a separate package Rivian will offer. It’s overnight outdoor adventures. For $2650, the package will include a three-person tent that mounts onto the top of the bed. With a 56-by-96 inch footprint, the Skyrise HD Medium Rooftop Tent is 48 includes tall. It comes from Rivian’s partnership with Yakima.
